Jim Finitsis
Born
Biography James Alan Finitsis was born in Massachusetts and moved to Bridgewater, New Hampshire when he was five. Bridgewater, NH is a small town of less than 900 people located near the White Mountains. Not alot to do. Thats sort of how the whole movie-making thing started, as a sort of grown up version of make-believe. Jim went to the University of New Hampshire in 1998 to persue a degree in Communication and English. Along the way he kept making films, increasingly pulling more and more people into the weird universe of underground filmmaking. In 2001 he was working at his crappy job at the dining hall when he was asked to go work at another dining hall that afternoon as they were short staffed. He met another worker there named Nicole LaBranche and mentioned that he was troubled because he needed someone to dub some clarniet sounds into his latest movie but didn't know any clarinet players. Nicole gleefully pointed out that she played clarinet and would love to help. In 2006 they married in a conference center that stands one building over from the crappy dining hall where they first met. Aside from filmmaking, Jim collects license plates, with a collection of over 500 plates from all 50 states and 7 countries. He also collects vinyl record albums, despite the fact that people incessantly point out to him the MP3s take up less room. Currently he is spending his filmmaking-related time shopping Working Stiffs around to different festivals and writing scripts for the forthcoming web-based show Turkeys.
